
Who we are
Webster Academy is our alternative learning community that serves WGHS students. Located at 17 Selma Ave, our priority is providing a safe space for students to explore alternative pathways to learning and graduation.
Our Webster Academy Team consists of the Alternative Educator Coordinator, Counselor, WGHS teachers, Special School District teachers, and our In-School Intervention Center Aide.
Our Message
As a learning community, we want every member to understand the purpose of Webster Academy. Regardless of your role at WGHS:
This space was created to SUPPORT and EMPOWER every member of our diverse learning community.

This means:
- Creating a courageous space to take risks and view mistakes as opportunities for growth
- Providing an opportunity for members to actively participate in problem solving process and decision making
- Finding joy in living free to define yourself while honoring the diverse identities and experiences of others
- Pursuing your personal and professional goals while contributing to the collective community
- Maintaining high expectations for ALL with equity at the center
This space strives to maintain a restorative learning community.
This means:
- Cultivating and maintaining healthy, respectful relationships
- Working together to repair relationships when harm has occurred
- Recognizing when we have made a mistake, owning our responsibility in the part we played (accountability), collaborating, and having a willingness to make things right.
- Honoring every voice, actively listening, and ensuring all members of the learning community are heard, seen, and valued.
