Welcome
Students will learn, demonstrate, and use learning strategies and study skills. Students will work on reading, writing, and math. Students will work on transition planning for their future after high school. Additionally, students will be provided opportunities to seek instructor assistance and request further learning strategies and study skills as needed to assist them in learning the content areas. Emphasis will be given to academic areas of concern. Students IEP goals will be addressed. Students will be expected to bring materials to every class session and demonstrate an appropriate attitude toward learning.
Students will earn a letter grade in this class based upon effort. Students will have the opportunity to earn five points for every class period. One point will be for performing the learning strategy lesson at the beginning of the period. One point will be for spending the entire period working. One point is for having daily assignments recorded. One point will be for remaining in the classroom during the entire period including being on time to class. One point will be given for nurturing the classroom environment (respectfully working while not disrupting others).
The grade scale follows the school-wide grade scale.
